back to a routine

Well, enough said.  I have a long way to go to show any painting ability.  I am the beginner of this group of Doves by the way.  I'll send a picture of the set up to see how far I have to go to get this right.  Now, understand the top of the jar isn't as blue as it turned out in the picture.  My fellow doves... good luck painting this week.  By the way, we had a good evening with B.B. King.  He is getting WAY along in years and if you ever wanted to hear him in person I would do it very soon.  Buddy Guy was there also and he was so very good.  He walks down into the audience.. how cool is that?

Good weather for stilllifes

After a fun weekend in the pool it's time to work inside and then paint. THe setup Gail did for me will be fun and a challenge.
Wish me luck!

Friday evening

I didn't paint today.  My son and his wife are visiting and we loaded up the boat with a picnic and headed to the waterfall on Lake Keowee and went to the end of this huge lake which is Duke Energy's dam.  The water in both places is 10 degree's colder than  the lake around our house.  It is quite a shock to jump into cold water.  We are all sun burned and tired from being out in the sun all day.  Tomorrow I won't blog.  We are headed to a B.B. King concert in Summerville, SC.  It is called Blues, and Bar B Que.  A rather nice combination I think in an outdoor setting.  It opens at 4 with lots of other bands and B.B. goes on at 9:00 pm.  It will be a LONG Day.  Welcome aboard Master Painter, Gail.!!

I am finally blogging! Doves please be aware that in Order for you to post on this blog you must have been invited to join.... After you have set up a gmail account send that email address to one of us JoAnn, Vanda, myself or another contributor (the list is on the upper right hand side) you will get an email inviting you to join as soon as possible. Respond to that and presto your are a contributor...not just follower.
Had a lovely evening discussing painting and general stuff. Agreement was reached on how much we appreciate all the Doves and a special coo goes out to Master Dove Gail.

Winding down this day

The day here was hot and humid. The lake was a beautiful dark blue green. I unpacked my new frames from Hobby Lobby and my bag of goodies from a local antique store. I have wonderful brass and copper pieces to practice my set up paintings. 150 good 6 x 6 paintings to get a free class with Gail Rogers is my goal. I sure am happy she didn't set a time line on that.

Testing creating a blog by texting from the phone. This is so cool!

I'm blogging

Today is my first day. Hello everyone out there in cyberland.

Largest house in U. S.

I spent the day in Ashville S.C. at the Biltmore mansion which is over 120,000 square feet. It was worth the day trip. We ate in the old Stable cafe for lunch. Jason thought it wasn't that pretty a home. Their favorite painter was John Singer Sargent. Otherwise there were lots of old prints. Vandal
