So many good painters.

I saw in Artist magazine the article on the portrait painter that will be teaching in Bartlesville in October.  He looks so young to have that much experience and honors already.!!  I asked Valerie and Dedra if this was really over my head.  Their answer was he will take you from where you are.  Well. BEGINNER!!!
I painted an eagle Tuesday.  It isn't really finished but it was not bad either.  It was done mainly free hand and free brain since it came from a photo on a calendar.  I would love to know what would knock it up a notch to more realistic.  I guess I tend to head in that direction in my painting too much.  I started a painting of a photo of Bob and his parents standing together.  So far it has been terribly hard to do.  I think once again I am into too many details.  I'll drag it to the art class next week so they can advise me and correct it.  I really want to do this also.  So are you brushing up on your "person.. people-facial- art skills for this class?  Show me.
I look and look at Jana's drawing of Laura and Bob and just wonder at how precise it is next to the photo and so much larger than life.  We are heading to Greenville tomorrow to see the museum of art shows going on.  Google them and look at the watercolor art that we will be amazed by.  Toodles....
