What is new and what is old

I am so sorry that Song has been so sore and sick the past couple of weeks.  When your back is out your life just seems to stop doesn't it?  Even a dedicated painter has to slow down and help out around the house.  I miss Qiang's paintings.  I am still waiting for El and Jo to finish their paintings and put them on line for all of us to see. 
This week has been interesting.  Our house in S.C. has a gas leak and it is outside, which means it is leaking probably still.  Everything is turned off and will stay that way until we can get someone to dig up the line and find the leak, which is somewhere between the meter and the house.  How awful is that?   Well the Aggies loosing this weekend was bad enough, but trying to find someone to help us from half across this nation was bad too.  Laura had driven out to spend the weekend with visitors after the Clemson game ( THEY Won) and smelled the bad smell.  She had to drive home and not stay on top of this.  The last time we took a break she happened to go out and find someone had turned on the hose in the pool and left it running.  They found it right before the pool over flowed.  I have a "lucky daughter".  She seems to know when there is a need to visit the house.
  Since I couldn't enjoy some Dove's company at the Round Top antique show this year I have to tell them, it is a not to miss event next year.  You have to get in shape or rent a golf cart or pray for rain and cool weather for next year.  We drove through Bastrop and saw all the fire damage.  One house saved, the next one destroyed. It was so sad to  look a and they found a lawyer to sue the electric company.  Well, someone had to take the blame.!!!  And someone has to pay for the damage to the homes that had no insurance.   Oh, yeah, I"ll have to have the truck available for that trip too.  I found a mechanic's table.  They had large round ones and smaller ones and they wind up to be high enough to use for Painting set ups.  I am so excited with this find.!!  It weighs a ton though and I 'll have to beg to get it up the stairs to the loft.  Bob is off on his Bike ride with his son and family.  Wonderful weather in Arkansas and Bartlesville.

One Famous Dove

One of our esteemed painting Doves sent a painting to Richard Schmidt's auction back east.  Her painting sold and the person that bought it sent Gail an email of her delight with the picture and that is was hanging on her dinning room hall.  I hope she finds out where this person lives.  Gail is Nationwide in selling her paintings now.!!!  I can hardly wait to hear about Anne Spoon's painting that they invited her to send also.  What a thrill to be thought so highly of.  I didn't know about the auction, and missed seeing it.  Maybe there are pictures on Richard's sight about the project.  I haven't looked yet.  I hope not to miss it next year. 
This Dove is also taking care of two wounded birds she was given this summer.  A mocking bird and a Bunting.  She has such a huge heart for wounded animals.  She even names them.  So, visit her sight it is on ours, and maybe her picture she sent it showing there.  The same for Anne.!!
Congrats Ladies.. I am so proud that I know you and you have been my teachers.  ( remember, a teacher can do only so much...)

Visiting Doves and painting on the side

Three Doves were busy painting this past week.  El set up the challenge and away we went.  This is my finished product.  As you can tell, my boxes are still wanting, even after fixing them a few times.  The finished product is a little different than this, but it gives you an idea of what we are up to.  That pot is awesome and the bowl was so pretty, and the pears... yummy to look at.  Of course we had three totally different paintings and I hope Jo and El add theirs to see the difference.  If not I will... ( I took the pictures with my I phone.  They are so good and advanced.  I am grateful they let me paint with them.  We played Mah Jong and domino's in between visiting, eating and painting.  I had a wonderful visit.  Luther was a kind host for Chase.

Vanda, JoAnn and I have been having a great time painting together. Vanda has made huge strides in her painting, the ladies back home have been good to her!
Bob has been getting me up uo date on all things technical. Will be having some good shows to watch.
Chase and Luther are sleeping soundly across my legs at this post. They are back to back a really counting rabbits. Luther has been so happy to have Chase here and this time I think Chase had more fun. They actually share!
Tomorrow we will paint more and BOb is going to straighten out the mess on my computer. It's going to be a grand day!!!
