Jason's finished picture

The first day of starting Jeremy's picture.  Layer one.!!

Back to painting sort of

I started back to painting this last week.  And will work on Jeremy's.  I have Jason's painting finished.  My sister from Ill.  called and said she had to put her beautiful Morgan horse, Captain, down Monday.  She was still upset about if it was the best thing to do or not.  For some strange reason he went totally blind in one morning.  It drove him to banging his head in the stall and sweating and  he had a colic attack that probably was not going to heal.  The Vet recommended what Linda agreed to.  It was so sad.  He was a gentle animal and sweet to his mistress.  They loved to share a pear she said.  He loved to go on Trail rides. Another loving animal in her life has gone out of her daily life.  I tried to get her to get a picture of her and him that I could paint.  I guess not now.

I think painting with another artist is great for an artist that is slow to get started or is stumped with ideas.  Another studio has all kinds of goody's to share that are a challenge to paint I think.  I am continuing to use very few paints on the pallet at a time and I really like that.  It stops me from grabbing a color and trying to work with it or work it in to the painting.  If I can find a post Jeremy's start I will.  Also the finished painting of Jason.
My real estate agents dropped by today and asked after JoAnn.  She wants to visit with her again sometime.  What a nice compliment to you Jo.

HELP!!!

I can't seem able to go upstairs and paint.  What is with this?  I am way behind in practice.  Lucky you guys in Bartlesville that have this wonderful class coming up to get you going.  Enjoy this opportunity to paint together.  I don't even want to go over to Keowee Keys and paint with the other artists.
Bob wants a painting that we can sell for a couple of million like the ones in the news today.  Most are painted by Chinese artists, which surprised us.  Like the one where the guy is looking through a hole in the door....
I also read that B12 is good for dieting.  I did not know that.  I thought it just gave you a boost in energy.  I also read that it is painful to get.  And people with anemia should get them regularly, because something in their body isn't being absorbed correctly.
Maybe it is just this time of year?  It doesn't seem to be slowing Anne Spoon down.  Her facebook was full of lovely pictures she is busy with.

Happy New Year

I finished a portrait of Jason.  It turned out really well done I think.  But I made his head rather large for the canvas I put it on.  I don't think those are things most artists are taught.  Canvas size in painting.  So, I start on one of Jeremy next.
I have it on my calendar to pay the rest of my class for Valdez Art class with Laura Robb next month.  I hope everyone is busy cleaning their brushes, watching video's to improve their skills, setting up for quick paintings and learning to use few colors to get all you want out of a picture.  This time I worked with just one or two colors at a time on my pallet and not only was it a challenge but I used a heck of a lot less paint to drying out etc.  My gutter set up I got from Liz is working out pretty good now.  The paint stopped sliding around when I put it together to put in the fridge.  Great invention.!!
The reserve down here in South Carolina is looking for visiting artists to stay at their Condo's and paint for a couple of days.  A great idea and a great chance to spread out from the West painter friends.  Go on line to the Reserve in South Carolina to find out more.   loves ya all.
